Our History

In 1983, along with his partner Chuck Spaugh, Dave King founded what was then known as King & Spaugh Advertising.  For eight years, King & Spaugh used their knowledge and experience in years of television and radio to bring a large and successful group of advertisers on board with the agency.  Chuck and Dave had experience in developing creative concepts for clients then writing and producing TV and Radio ads that worked.

In 1991 Chuck Spaugh left the agency for a management position at KAMC TV.  He sold his part of the business to Jeff Gibson, who had most recently worked as sales manager at KLBK TV.

Jeff and Dave didn’t miss a beat in continuing the tradition started eight years earlier.  Jeff brought his experience and clients to the company and K&G Advertising continued on down the road to success.

During this time, K&G has been the Agency of record for some of the area and regions largest businesses.

With more than 70 years experience in broadcasting and advertising between them, Dave and Jeff continue to run one of the most successful agencies in Lubbock, in fact, anywhere in the area. It is clear that these two have made a career in the ad business and success is part of their history.

For several years, K&G has been the largest local agency in station billing for more than one of Lubbock’s local TV and radio stations.  This is evidence of their large account base and their ability to understand advertisers needs and apply successful strategies that get results.
